Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure has awarded N. Fohdhoo Harbour Development Project to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).
At a ceremony held at the Planning Ministry, the agreement was signed by Director General of the Ministry Fathimath Shaana Farooq on behalf of Ministry and CEO of MTCC Adam Azim signed the agreement on behalf of the company.
Under the project to develop N. Fohdhoo Harbour, MTCC has to carry out 30,648 cubic meter new harbor basin dredging operations, 3990 cubic meter channel dredging operations, 165 meter revetment, 145 meter breakwater, 130 meter quay wall, 125m × 6m jetty, 600 square meter pavement, navigational lights and harbor lights. An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) also will be conducted as it is part of the project scope.
The MVR 53.75 million project was awarded to the company to be completed on 390 days.
MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
