Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure has awarded Ha. Thakandhoo Harbour Development Project to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).
At a ceremony held at the Planning Ministry, the agreement was signed by Director General of the Ministry Fathimath Shaana Farooq on behalf of Ministry and CEO of MTCC Adam Azim signed the agreement on behalf of the company.
Under the project to develop Ha. Thakandhoo Harbour Development, MTCC has to carry out 15,565 cubic meter harbor basin and channel dredging operations, 58 meter revetment, 161 meter breakwater, 98 meter sandfilled breakwater outer revetment, 244 meter quay wall, 17m × 7m ramp, 11m × 3m Bridge, 2463 square meter harbour pavement and harbour lights. An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) also will be conducted as it is part of the project scope.
The MVR 46.59 million project was awarded to the company to be completed on 420 days.
MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
