Kulhudhuffushi City has signed an agreement to establish and maintain a Waste Management System in the island.

The agreement was signed between Kulhudhuffushi City Council, Waste Management Corporation Limited (WAMCO) and the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Technology.

According to the Environment Ministry, the main objective of the agreement is to establish a robust waste management system in Kulhudhuffushi City and maintain it in a sustainable manner. Moreover, the project also aims to reduce the Environmental and Human health hazards caused by waste.

The government is setting up modern waste management facilities in various islands to tackle the problem of waste in the country.
