Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has stated that they have commenced installation of concrete blocks required for quay wall construction for Sh. Milandhoo Harbor Upgrading Project.
Under the project to upgrade Milandhoo Harbour MTCC has to carry out 17,900 cubic meter maintenance dredging operations, 72,938 cubic meter new harbour basin dredging operations, channel dredging operations of 8,400 cubic meter, construction of a 583 meter breakwater, a 93 meter revetment, a 25 meter groyne, and a 316 meter quay wall. In addition, installation of mooring buoys, installation of harbour lights, installation of navigational lights, paving of 3,863 square meter harbour pavement, construction of 2 concrete bridges, construction of a jetty (130m x 2m), construction of a ramp and access platform.
The MVR 76.44 million project was awarded to the company to be completed within 600 days.
MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
