President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has inaugurated Sh. Goidhoo Fenaka Office and Powerhouse.
The new Powerhouse and office is strategically located away from residential areas and the facility houses four generator sets with a combined power generation capacity of 648 Kilowatts. And can accommodate 10 staff members and has modern facilities. The President also inaugurated the Goidhoo electricity network. This initiative replaces the island’s old powerhouse, built in the center of a residential neighbourhood 18 years ago, and is part of the administration’s commitment to addressing the challenges island residents face.
The projects were inaugurated on Tuesday during President Solih’s ongoing visit to Shaviyani Atoll.
Current administration has made significant strides towards achieving equitable development across all inhabited islands in the Maldives. By improving the quality of life for citizens and empowering them to lead dignified lives, the administration is paving the way for a brighter future for all.
