Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has stated that the second shipment of precast concrete blocks required for Sh. Narudhoo Harbour Renovation Project has been delivered to the site.
MTCC also updated on ongoing works stating that 40% of dredging operations of new harbour basin has been completed and underway.
Under the project to renovate Sh. Narudhoo Harbour MTCC has to dredge 36,010 cubic meters from currently used harbour, dredging of 15,202 cubic meter new harbour basin, channel dredging operations of 4,120 cubic meter, construction of a 371 meter breakwater, a 205 meter revetment, and a 210 meter quay wall. In addition, installation of harbour lights, installation street lights, installation of 955 square meter harbor pavement and construction of a ramp.
The MVR 41.34 million project was awarded to the company by Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure to be completed within 365 days.
MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
