Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure has awarded Ha. Thuraakunu Land Reclamation and Shore Protection Project to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).
At a ceremony held at the Planning Ministry, the agreement was signed by Director General of the Ministry Fathimath Shaana Faarooq and COO of MTCC Shahid Hussain Moosa signed the agreement on behalf of the company.
Under the project sand search surveys, 8.16 hectares reclamation operations, and construction of 1215 meter revetment will be carried out. An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) also will be conducted as it is part of the project scope.
The MVR 152.04 million project was awarded to the company to be completed within 630 days.
MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
