The Ministry of Tourism has stated that Alidhuhfaru which was allotted by the government for tourism development from Thiladhunmathi has been awarded to the second highest bidder as initial winner failed to pay acquisition within the stipulated time period.

According to the Tourism Ministry, the bid winner Sub Solar Investment Private Limited was allowed to pay the acquisition cost $2.4 million (MVR 37 million), within 60 days but the amount was not paid. The second highest bidder was given chance to pay the acquisition cost as the initial bid winner failed to pay the acquisition cost within the stipulated time period. The second bidder submitted $1.2 million.

Although the second highest bidder for Alidhuhfaru is yet to be revealed, the company will also get 60 days to pay the acquisition cost.
