Kulhudhuffushi Zigzag for Youth Linkage and Hanimaadhoo Zuvaanunge Jamiyya (HZJ) are set to play in the final of Kulhudhuffushi Championship 2023 Football Tournament organized by Kulhudhuffushi City Council.
Zigzag reached to the final without losing a single match. HZJ qualified for the semi-finals of the tournament as the second team in the group with one defeat, one draw and four points from one win. HZJ defeated defending champions Club Corals, the top team in Group B, in the semi-finals.
The objectives of organizing the tournament include providing an opportunity to all football lovers, including the youth of Kulhudhuffushi, to enhance the football skills of the youth, to produce youth who play football at the national level in the city and to make the city a supportive island for the development of football. Taking football to a new level in the city and keeping the youth away from crime are also the objectives of organizing the tournament.
In addition, the winning team will be awarded with MVR 60,000 while the runners-up will get MVR 15,000. And cash prizes and trophies will be given to other selected winners from matches and tournament.
The final match of the tournament is scheduled to be played today 1550hrs at Kulhudhuffushi Zone Stadium. The final will be live streamed on Kulhudhuffushi City Council’s Facebook page.
