Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has stated that Sh. Maaungoodhoo Harbour Development Project is progressing at a fast pace.

MTCC also updated on ongoing works stating that 98% of quay wall block installation work, 27% of quay wall concrete capping work, and 41% of new harbor basin dredging work has been completed.

Under the project to develop Maaungoodhoo Harbour MTCC has to dredge 59013 cubic meter new harbour basin, channel dredging operations of 3245 cubic meter, construction of a 362 meter breakwater, a 105 meter revetment, and a 312 meter quay wall. In addition, installation of mooring buoys, installation of harbour lights, installation of street lights, installation of 1509 square meter harbour pavement, construction of a ramp and concrete jetty.

The MVR 56.33 million project was awarded to the company to be completed within 475 days.

MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
