HDh. Nellaidhoo Council Cup Football Tournament has begun on June 10, 2023.
In the first match of the tournament played on Saturday between FC Falcon and Club Refugee. Refugee won the match 3-1. Ismail Wifaq from Refugee was selected as the best player of the match.
In the second match King Spirit won the match against FC Dhunmaari 5-1. Irfan Adam from King Spirit was selected as the best player of the match. And in the third match FC Friends won the match against FC Falcon 5-0. Thahumeen Nooh from FC Friends was selected as the best player of the match.
A total of seven teams participated in the tournament. The teams are FC Falcon, Club Refugee, FC Friends, Nika City, King Spirit, FC Dhunmaari and MMC. Tournaments first match will be played between FC Falcon and Club Refuge on June 10 evening.
The tournament is planned to be held in such a way that the participating teams will be divided into two groups so that the top two teams from each group qualify for the semi-finals. The final is scheduled to be played on June 19.
In additions, Council have scheduled to start its Handball Tournament on June 15. Only three teams participated in the Handball Tournament. The tournament is planned in such a way that the two teams with the most points make it to the final after a group stage between the three teams. The final will be played on June 19.
The teams that participated in the hand ball tournament are Young Star, Bright Star and Habeys.
