On the occasion of World Environment Day, Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has launched a special activities as part of its ‘Nala Veshi’ campaign.
These activities will be held in Male’, Hulhumale’ and Kulhudhuffushi City where company’s operations are ongoing. Meanwhile, a special tree plantation and greening event was held in Hulhumale’ yesterday evening. The event was commenced by MWSC Managing Director Hassan Shah and Urbanco Chief Operating Officer Shathir Abdul Rahman. Senior management team and staffs of MWSC were present on the occasion.
Moreover, ‘Nala Kulhudhuffushi’ event has been organized to create awareness among the people of Kulhudhuffushi from May 1-3. In collaboration with Kulhudhuffushi City Council, the island’s beaches and areas with waste also have been cleared. More than 20 institutions and NGOs from Kulhudhuffushi participated in the event, according to MWSC. The company stated that they received a good response from the general public as well.
Furthermore, ‘Fen Fiesta’ a children’s evening was held in Kulhudhuffushi and also organized a sessions to educate the children studying in the schools of Kulhudhuffushi not to use water and to educate them about clean drinking water.
The ‘Nala Veshi’ campaign is aimed at encouraging safe and sustainable waste collection and discarding and making people aware of it. MWSC stated it has always strived to become an innovative company by adopting environment-friendly methods as possible in its operations.
