Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has stated that the 72% of Ha. Muraidhoo Harbour upgrading project has been completed.

MTCC also updated ongoing works stating that second shipment of rock boulders required for the project has been delivered to the site and 17% of breakwater profiling work has been completed.

Under the project to upgrade Muraidhoo Harbour MTCC has to dredge 29841 cubic metres of harbour basin,  3546 cubic meters of entrance channel, construction of a 514 meter breakwater, a 105 meter revetment, 50 meter groyne, and a 212 meter L-section quay wall. In addition, reprofiling of 107 meter from existing breakwater, construction of a bridge connecting quay wall and breakwater, installation of navigation lights, installation of streetlights, and developing a paved area will be undertaken.

The MVR 34.28 million project was contracted to MTCC by the Ministry of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure on August 25, 2021, allocating a completion period of 365 days.

MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
