A Sewing course is ongoing at HDh. Makunudhoo.
The course designated for the women of the island is organized by the Women’s Development Committee (WDC). According to Makunudhoo WDC President Saathia Mohamed Rasheed stated that a total of 14 participants participated in the two week course which began on May 20.
Moreover, she added that these course was open to the entire atoll, but this time only women’s from Makunudhoo participated. She further stated that course covers basics and advances in sewing and tutor of the course is a person with experience in this field and is skilled in running such courses.
Furthermore, Saathia noted that even though the course fee is MVR 2,500, participants were charged MVR 1,500 and the remaining MVR 1,000 was paid by the WDC. Also she stated that participants who complete the course will receive a certificate and first, second, and third place will be selected from the course and will be awarded with a gift.
In addition, at the end of the course, the teacher will conduct a separate test and then certificates will be given to those who pass from the test, Saathia added.
