Ha. Molhadhoo Council has stated that the Greenhouses built in the island have been completed and finishing works inside the Greenhouses are currently underway.
Speaking regarding the project Molhadhoo council stated that the project is being funded by the Ministry of Agriculture and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). And according to the council, 20 or 30 people have always been cultivating crops in the island. But the problem is that they don’t have the full information and financial support required for farming.
Moreover, Council hopes that based on the information provided by the agriculture ministry team that has already visited the island, farmers will gain more information regarding farming and farming in the island can be improved in the future.
In addition, Molhadhoo Council stated that efforts are being made to ensure that agricultural equipment and financial support are more easily available to the farmers in the island.
The project is being implemented as part of the Greenhouse Demonstration Initiatives Plan, targeting islands in Haa Alifu, Haa Dhaalu, and Shaviyani Atoll. A total of 15 people from Molhadhoo Island Farmers Forum participated in the training.
