Regional Airports Company, which operates Kulhudhuffushi Airport has stated that HDh. Kulhudhuffushi Airport Shore Protection Project has been completed.

Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (MoNPHI) awarded the Kulhudhuffushi Airport Shore Protection Project to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) back in January 2023. The MVR 42.37 million project is awarded to MTCC to be completed within 200 days.

Under the project, 882 meters of revetment was carried out and 30 meters of groynes were constructed. And an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) was carried out before commencing the project.

MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
