Ashfa Aslam has won the Kumundhoo Youth Sports (KYS) Ranthari Quran competition and Madhaha competition.

The closing ceremony of Kumundhoo Youth Sports Ranthari Quran Competition 1444 and Kumundhoo Youth Sports Madhaha Competition 1444 were held on Monday evening. Manager of MNU Kulhudhuffushi Campus Dr. Mohamed Umar presided over the function.

Ashfa Aslam was selected as the Ranthari of Kumundhoo by securing the first position in the Quran competition. This is the second consecutive year she has won first place in the competition. Aishath Rayaa Mohamed finished second in the competition and Ahmed Mirah Hussain finished third. Moreover, winners from all participating age groups were selected. This is the third time that KYS has organized the Quran competition.

Furthermore, Ashfa Aslam also won first place in the Madaha competition. Fathimath Suhana won the second place while Thohira Mohamed won the third place. This is the second time that KYS has organized this Madhaha competition.

This year, the Quran and Madhaha competition was held in four age groups. The age groups were under 5 years of age, under 8 years, under 12, and under 16 years of age.

The objectives of these competitions are to inculcate love for religious practices among the students of the island, to inculcate their love for the Quran and to establish a religious society in the island.

The club thanked the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Makunudhoo MP Mohamed Raaee, Kumundhoo Council and WDC for their support in conducting the two competitions. In addition, KYS announced that both the competitions will be held next year as well.
