Ahmed Sujau (Sujau Sir), from Ha. Hoarafushi has won a top position in the ‘Ran Thaaju Quran Competition’ largest Quran competition ever held in the Maldives.

Sujau finished fourth from across the country after reaching the final round of the competition, which featured 111 participants from six regions of the country. Sujau currently work as a Qur’an teacher at Haa Alifu Atoll Edcuation Center in Hoarafushi.

Sujau’s achievement was warmly congratulated by the Atoll Haa Alifu Atoll Edcuation Center. Moreover, Hoarafushi Council celebrated Sujau’s achievement and stated that Shujau’s achievement is for the Haa Alifu Atoll and to the Island. And further stated that it was a great achievement to qualify for the final round in a competition involving 111 participants from across the country.

He received an Umra tour from Urbanco, a carpet from Proxy Home, a smart phone from Maxcom, a blender from STO, a gift hamper from Repute, a gift hamper from BestBuy, a gift hamper from Flame Lily, a gift hamper from Poise, and a gift hamper from Poise for winning the fourth of the competition.

The Ran Thaaju Quran Competition was jointly organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment and RaajjeTV. A cash prize of MVR 300,000 was presented to the winner of the competition. It is the biggest Quran Competition ever held in the country.
