Ha. Ihavandhoo Club Polestar’s 21st Quran Competition has concluded successfully.
With 125 participants, the competition began on April 16th night. The competition was held at Ihavandhoo School and was concluded on April 19. The results of the tournament will be announced in the coming week.
A cash prize of MVR 5,000 will be given to the winner, a cash prize of MVR 3,000 will be given to the second place and MVR 2,000 for the third place.
This is the 21st consecutive year that the Polestar is hosting the tournament. This is the longest Quran competition held in Ihavandhoo without any break.
The purposes of the competition are to inculcate love for reciting the Holy Quran in the hearts of the student, to revive the art of reciting the Holy Quran in according to Tajweed, providing a competitive environment among the students to recite Quran in according to Tajweed, and to develop participants who can compete at national competitions.
