Ooredoo Maldives has announced they will be launching a Ooredoo Boki Boalha tournament.
The tournament will be held in collaboration with Maziya Sports and Recreation Club. This fun-filled and thrilling sports event offers a unique and innovative twist on the world’s most popular sport – football – as participants will be playing while wearing a bumper ball.
According to Ooredoo corporates can register before 2359hrs of April 1, 2023, via http://ore.do/bokiboalha The tournament is scheduled to be held from April 6-8, 2023, at Henveiru Stadium.
Winning team will be awarded with MVR 20,000, while the second-place team will be granted MVR 10,000, and the third-place team will receive MVR 5,000 as a prize.
Moreover, according to Ooredoo only 12 teams will be given a chance to participate in the tournament and teams will be divided into four groups, with the top team from each group advancing to the semi-finals and competing for the championship title. In the event that more than 12 teams register, teams will be selected via a lucky draw. Each team should consist of 8 players and a maximum of 3 officials. A minimum of 5 players is required to start a match.
Furthermore, each match in the tournament will last for 10 minutes, consisting of two halves with a 3-minute break. During the group stage matches, three points will be awarded for a win and one point for a draw. In the knockout stage, if two teams are tied, a penalty shootout will be held.
