Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has stated that the geotechnical survey for the Sh. Komandoo Shore Protection Rectification and Mathi-Komandoo Connectivity Project has been completed.
MTCC also updated on ongoing works stating that based on the data collected, they are now preparing to commence the foundation works for the bridge.
Under the project, ratification of 1690 meter of shore protection rectification will be carried out, reclamation of 16.7 hectares of land in Mathi Komandoo, constructing a 1520 meter rock boulder revetment, 353 meter groynes and a 112 meter geobag revetment in the reclaimed area. In addition, construction of a 200 meter long link to connect the reclaimed area to Komandoo and Mathi Komandoo.
The project was awarded to MTCC for MVR 250 million to be completed within 730 days.
