Shaviyani Atoll Council has signed agreement with Mianz International College (MI College) to start the Council’s Human Resource Development program.
The agreement was signed by Atoll Council President Mohamed Shiyam on behalf of the Atoll Council and Rector of MI College Lamya Abdul Haadhee on behalf of MI College.
Two courses will be offered under the programme. These include a one year Masters in Business Administration course and a four month University Preparation Programme for Diploma courses.
The monthly fee for the Masters in Business Administration course has been fixed at MVR 2,500 and monthly fee for the University Preparation Programme for Diploma course has been fixed at MVR 250.
Speaking about the program, Assistant Council Executive of Sh. Atoll Council Hamdhoon Naseem stated that the main objective of the Atoll Council to carry out the Human Resource Development Program is to increase the quality of staff working in the government institutions in the islands of the atoll.
Hamdhoon further stated that Diploma and Degree programs have also been conducted in the last few years under the program and this year it has been decided that a Masters program will be conducted.
Moreover, Hamdhoon noted that a party to conduct these courses are selected after a bidding process. Furthermore, while making the agreement with the college to run the courses, the council has been providing expenses such as some of the expenses of the lecturers and by arranging such expenses, they reduce the fees charged from the participants of the course and therefore, this is done to provide an assistance to the course participants.
Classes for the two courses under the program will be held over the weekend in Sh. Funadhoo.
