Allied Insurance Company’s Islamic window; Ayady Takaful is all set to launch a new ‘Crop Takaful’ service in the Maldives.
The service designed for farmers was launched at a special press conference held at Allied Insurance headquarters. General Manager Ibrahim Firshan and Ayady Takaful Manager Fathimath Nizma briefed about the new service at the press conference.
According to Ayady, ‘Crop Takaful’ is a service designed to provide protection to farmers from potential income constraints and help them overcome them. The service can be registered online and does not require any documents to register.
Currently, the coverage of the service will be to compensate for damage to crops caused by a natural event. Therefore, a farmer who has taken ‘crop takaful’ will be compensated if he/she has suffered any such loss during the plan period by submitting photographs along with a report of the incident. The compensation will be calculated by including the cost incurred for the farming and the expected profits from it.
Allied Insurance, which already offers a range of services that improve people’s lifestyle and empower them, hopes that ‘Crop Takaful’ will also help farmers reduce the impact of climate change on their income and enhance quality of life. Moreover, the company stated that they hope that everyone will take advantage of this service, which can be availed immediately and easily through ‘My Allied’.
