Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure has awarded N. Kendhikulhudhoo Harbour upgrade and Boat Beaching area Development project to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) under design and build basis.
At a ceremony held at the Planning Ministry, the agreement was signed by Director General Fathimath Shana Farooq, and CEO of MTCC Adam Azim signed the agreement on behalf of the company.
Under the project to upgrade Kendhikulhudhoo Harbour and boat beaching area development project, MTCC has to dredge 28393 cubic meter of existing harbour basin, 30480 cubic meter new harbour basin, channel dredging operations of 12968 cubic meter, dredging operations of 12038 cubic meter boat beaching area, channel dredging operations of 14220 cubic meter boat beaching area, construction of 130 meter revetments, a 246 meter groyne, a 249 meter meter quay wall, 11*11 meter ramp, 86*1.5 meter concrete Jetty. In addition, installation of mooring buoys, installation of harbour lights, installation of street lights, and construction of harbour pavement.
The MVR 73.16 million project was awarded to the company to be completed within 500 days.
In addition, company was also awarded AA. Mathiveri and K. Himmafushi Shore Protection Project and HDh. Kulhudhuffushi Jetty Extension Project.
MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
