Draw ceremony has been held for the HZJ Volleyball Tournament 2023 organized by Hanimaadhoo Zuvaanunge Jamiyya (HZJ).

Draw ceremony was held at a small event held at Hanimaadhoo Break Time Restaurant. The tournament is scheduled to begin on March 10. The matches of the Tournament will be played at the Multipurpose court of Hanimaadhoo Social Centre.

A total of five teams participated in the tournament. They are Hiyala, Barefoot, Rooh, Ummeedh and Reyru Squad.

The tournament is planned so that each team competes against each other and the team with the most points gets the first place in the final. The second place in the final will go to the winner of the semifinal between the second placed team in the points table and the third placed team.

The opening match of the tournament Rooh will be playing against Ummeedh at 1610 hrs of March 10 and in the second match Reyru Squad will play against Barefoot at 2010 hrs on the same day.

The objectives of organizing the tournament are to inculcate and revive the spirit of the sports among the women of Hanimaadhoo, to enhance their volleyball skills, to improve unity among people, and allow them to play volleyball in a competitive environment.

Hanimaadhoo Zuvaanunge Jamiyya, which was registered in 1993, has been working for the development of the island since they were established. Moreover, they have won the National Award in 2016. This is the 30th consecutive year that the organization has been running unabated.
