Male’ Water and Sewerage Company Private Limited (MWSC) has completed construction and inaugurated the the 15 storey tower under the Hiyaa Project in Hulhumale’ Phase II.
The company has given the tower ‘Malas Residence’. The flat was inaugurated by Minister at the President’s Office Ahmed Sameer at a special ceremony held yesterday. Managing Director of MWSC Hasan Shah, MWSC management team and staff as well as officials of the project contractor were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, MWSC Managing Director Hasan Shah stated that with the opening of ‘Malas Residence’ for the employees of the company has helped the employees to get affordable housing. He further stated that facilitating the housing project for employees of state-owned companies is a golden opportunity opened by the government to those who have applied for it.
The MWSC’s ‘Malas Residence’ has a total of 192 apartments. These includes 60 three room apartments, 40 two plus one room apartments, and 92 one room apartments. Apart from a play area and a shop for children, a parking zone has also been set up on both sides of the building to park vehicles. The project was awarded to The 23rd Metallurgical Construction Group Co. L.T.D. of Minmetals, a Chinese company.
Moreover, the keys have now been handed over to those who receive the apartments in ‘Malas Residence’. In order to make it easier for those who got apartments from MWSC to pay their monthly dues, a provision has also been made to pay for the flat through Islamic Bank.
According to the company, the MWSC’s Hiyaa project will ensure housing for most of its employees.
