Shield has defeated Ahulee claiming their first win of the ‘Hanimaadhoo League 2022/23’ Football tournament, ongoing at HDh. Hanimaadhoo.
Shield won the match against Ahulee 3-1 in the match played on Monday. Fayaz Moosa of Shield was selected as the best player of the match.
The next match of the tournament will be played today. In today’s match Falcon is scheduled to play against Youth Friends. Match will be played at Hanimaadhoo Football Ground at 1600 hrs.
A total of seven teams participated in the tournament. The teams are Youth Friends, Uniform, Ahulee, Real Stars, Rooh, Shield, and Falcon.
The purpose of the tournament is to develop the football skills of the youth of Hanimaadhoo by giving them the opportunity to play football in a competitive environment and producing young footballers in the island and helping them maintain their fitness at a good level.
The tournament was planned by dividing into two rounds. Each team will meet each other twice and the team with the highest points will win the title. This is the first time that a football league is being held in Hanimaadhoo.
