President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih held a meeting with the men’s national beach volleyball and bodybuilding teams.

Ahmed Mahloof, the Minister of Youth, Sports, and Community Empowerment, as well as representatives from the volleyball and bodybuilding associations, attended the meeting held at the President’s Office.

At the most recent Central Asian Beach Volleyball Tournament, the national beach volleyball team won the gold medal. And at the World Bodybuilding and Physique Championships, the national bodybuilding team won gold, silver, and bronze.

President Solih congratulated the teams on their recent victory in the international sporting events in his meeting with them. He also emphasized the administration’s dedication to supporting local athletes and sports development. He further stated that the administration’s efforts were paying off.

Moreover, the teams were reassured by President Solih that the administration is still committed to offering further training opportunities and Water sports and beach volleyball are two further areas that could be expanded.

Furthermore, Minister Mahloof highlihted the administration’s accomplishments in advancing sports during the meeting, particularly the most recent victories for the beach volleyball and bodybuilding teams. He also expressed his appreciation for President Solih’s dedication to developing sports. President Solih was also informed about planned events and competitions during the meeting by representatives of the beach volleyball and building associations.

Recent accomplishments by both men’s national beach volleyball and bodybuilding teams are the first gold medals for the Maldives at the beach volleyball tournament and bodybuilding championship.
