Kulhudhuffushi City Women’s Development Committee (WDC) has open nominations for ‘Kamana Award 2023’, a special award given by the Kulhudhuffushi City WDC, in recognition of women’s work in various fields on the occasion of International Women’s Day this year.
The award is given on the occasion of International Women’s Day this year, in recognition of women’s contribution to national service and their role in national development and community building at the island level.
Moreover, objectives of the awards are to increase women’s participation in the country’s development and developmental efforts, recognize the valuable work done by women and their achievements, to encourage more women to join the national service, increase women’s participation in sectors where women’s participation is low, and recognize and appreciate the work of individuals working for gender equality.
The awards will be given in a total of nine categories. These areas include politics, health, education, art and culture and heritage, small and medium enterprises, social sector, philanthropic work, news and information dissemination, and sports.
Candidates who wish to apply for the award are advised to visit the WDC office on the ground floor of the NOC building before 1300 hrs of February 16 or mail it to the committee. Furthermore, application form will be available from website and WDC office between 0900-1100hrs on weekdays.
