Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital (KRH) has started its new OPD block operations.
Services began at the new building on the south side of the hospital on January 24. The new building will provide services to General Doctors, Specialists Doctors and the Public Relations department services.
The construction of the new OPD building at KRH was completed and handed over to the hospital on January 20. The new OPD building have 21 consultation rooms, a treatment room, a procedure room, an ECG room and an echo room. The project is worth MVR 20.2 million was awarded to the company on November 18, 2021.
Moreover, KRH stated with the operations of the new OPD at the hospital, specialty doctors consultation at the OPD will be held from 0830 hrs 1600 hrs and General consultation will continue from 0800 hrs to 2200 hrs. And the consultation timings and memo-making timings have been revised, noting that dressings service and collection of laboratory samples will continue from 0800 hrs to 1900 hrs.
The OPD building built at KRH will solve the space shortage faced by the hospital, expand the existing services provided by the hospital, and provide more convenience to the people seeking services.
In addition, in the last four-and-a-half years, KRH has made significant strides. The number of doctors and nurses has been significantly increased and MRI, Mammography, CT scan and diagnostic services have been introduced, and the need to travel to the capital for health care has been drastically reduced.
