The official logo of the Ha. Baarah Council has been unveiled.
The official logo of the Council was unveiled at a special function held at the Council on Thursday. Apart from the logo, the council’s flag, staff card, letterhead and uniform were also unveiled at the event. President of Haa Alifu Atoll Council Moosa Siraj graced the event.
The ‘Dhoani’ in the logo represents the ship known as the ‘Kalhu Oh Fummi’ used to travel in the Independence movement led by ‘Utheem Thinbein’ to save the country from Portuguese slavery. The boat was built in Baarah. The inner river, which appears in the logo, is where ‘Kalhu Oh Fummi’ was docked before sunrise after their journeys at the night saving country from Portuguese slavery. The Arabic Letter ‘Baa’ in represents distinctive feature of the island.
Baarah is a unique island with a unique character in its origins.
