The Ministry of Tourism has announced that three islands from Thiladhunmathi will be opened for bidding next week for tourism development.

Noting that work on Hanimaadhoo International Airport Development project had begun on January 18, the Ministry further stated that with the development of the airport, it is expected that 8,000 tourist beds will be developed in the area. It is expected that three islands opened for bidding will be from Haa Alifu Atoll and Haa Dhaalu Atoll.

Currently, two resorts are being operated in Haa Alifu Atoll successfully, however there is only Hon’daafushi Island Resort in Haa Dhaalu Atoll, which operates with 80 rooms.
