The new Preschool developed by Sh. Feydhoo Council in the island has been inaugurated.
The preschool was inaugurated by Feydhoo Council President and Vice President of Shaviyani Atoll Council Ahmed Raisham at a ceremony held at 16:30 hrs yesterday. The opening ceremony was attended by council members, council staffs, teachers, students and parents of the Pre-school.
Feydhoo Council President Raisham stated that Preschool developed near the council office was developed by spending more than MVR 200,000. He added that this was a special initiative taken by the council to improve the foundation stage education of the island.
The opening of a pre-school after one-and-a-half years since the council was elected was an added boost to the education of Island, and starting preschool education was an electoral pledge of current council, Raisham added. Moreover, he noted that once preschool education combined with official education system, there was no baby nursery and nursery education in the island.
Furthermore, Raisham stated that the preschool was developed with the support of all the residents of the island. And he also thanked all those who helped in this regard.
In the new preschool opened in Feydhoo currently 27 students have registered and two teachers will be teaching to these students. And MVR 350 will be charged from each student monthly.
