Opportunity opened to enroll for Bachelor of Teaching Primary Course at Villa College Kulhudhuffushi Campus
The Maldives Media Council (MMC) and the High Commission of India (HCI) has held discussions for the possibility of providing training and capacity building programs for Maldivian journalists through Indian educational institutions.
The meeting was attended by the President of the MMC Ahmed Musthafa, Council Member Mohamed Afrah, Council Member Moosa Rasheed, Council Member Uza Arumaan Rasheed, and Secretary General Dr. Ibrahim Sameer. The meeting was attended by India’s High Commissioner, H.E. Munu Mahawar, and First Secretary Karan Yadev.
Moreover, the focus of the discussions was on assistance in sending Maldivian journalists to India for training and initiatives to build their capacities. Also, discussed whether it would be possible to invite experts from Indian educational institutions to visit the Maldives and hold training sessions here in Maldives. And the discussions held on facilitation of short- and long-term journalism scholarships programmes from India to Maldives.
Furthermore, The Indian High Commissioner assured that he would facilitate in providing training and capacity building programs for Maldivian journalists. Also he assured that he would assist in setting up training programs in Maldives.
In addition, the Indian High Commissioner pledged to continue supporting the collaboration agreement that MMC and the Press Council of India signed.
