‘Bul Bul Therapy Center Imagu Ghaazee Cup Football Tournament 2023’ organized by the Ihavandhoo Masveringe Gulhun (Imagu) has commenced.
In the first match of the tournament played at Ihavandhoo Ghaazee Football Ground, Kulhi Magu won the match against Sencity 3-0. Saalim Mohamed of Kulhi Magu was selected as the best player of the match. Second match was won by Jungle by defeating FC Bodu Magu 13-1. Hamza Mohammed (Hampu) of Jungle was selected as the best player of the match.
A total of teams participated in the Tournament, they are Future FC, NVK, FC Bodu Magu, Jungle, Kulhi Magu and Sencity. And 6 teams are divided into two groups. The tournament is organized by the Imagu in collaboration with Ihavandhoo Police station aimed at the youth of the island.
In the first round of the tournament, the first and second teams from each group will advance to the second round of the tournament. The top two teams from matches played on a point basis between the four teams in the second round will advance to the final.
While the first round of matches will be played in the morning and evening, from the second round, matches will be played only in the evening.
According to Imagu, purpose of the tournament are to increase the interest of Football among the youth of Ihavandhoo, to strive to bring about a positive change through sports for the health and well-being of the youth, to provide more opportunities for the youth to take up sports and to promote friendship and harmony among the youth.
A cash prize of MVR 10,000 will be given to the winning team MVR 5,000 to the runners-up.
