Maarandhoo Youth Society has won the ‘Ihavan Cup 2022’ organized Club Polestar.
The competition organized by the Club Polestar was opened to all islands of Haa Alifu and Haa Dhaalu Atolls.
In the final match of the tournament played at Ha. Ihavandhoo on Saturday night, Maarandhoo Youth Society won the match against Ha. Dhidhdhoo HN Sports on penalties 4-2, as match ended in a 1-1 draw after regulation time. Maarandhoo team goalkeeper Naufal Moosa was selected as the best player of the final match.
According to Club Polestar, the purpose of the competition is to strengthen the friendship between Government institutes, NGOs, Resorts, and Companies of Ha. and HDh. Atoll. Ihavan Cup is the most expensive Football tournaments organised by a club organisation in Thiladhunmathi. The winning team was awarded a cash prize of MVR 50,000 and runners-up were awarded a cash prize of MVR 25,000.
This is the second time the Ihavan Cup is organized by Club Polestar. Club Polestar has been registered since 1999 and has been working for the development of Ihavandhoo.
