A Children’s park developed by the Ha. Vashafaru Council has been opened on the island.
Vashafaru Council stated that the park was developed at a cost of MVR 3,25,000 and was funded from the council’s budget.
Moreover, the council stated that the equipment kept in the park was donated by the Youth Ministry and the council was informed that they were received under a grant from the Government of India.
According to the Council, the purpose of developing such a park is to create a happy environment where children can play and have fun. It’s about getting a chance to meet with family and friends in a different environment. And noted that the park will remain open from 1600hrs to 1800hrs every day and will soon put up posters/documents indicating that park users to follow.
In addition, the council requests parents to be careful about children while playing at the park, so the parents can minimize the risk of getting injured while playing at the park.
The park was inaugurated at a special function on December 26, which is celebrated as the Unity Day of the country. The park was inaugurated by former council member Mohammad Zaki and Inspector of Police Adam Mueen.
