A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between Housing Development Corporation (HDC) and Moms NGO.

The agreement was signed on behalf of HDC by Managing Director Ahmed Athif and Co-founder Sithra Mohamed signed on behalf of Moms NGO.

As HDC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) an agreement was signed to provide office space, a unit of Hiyaa Flats free of charge. The unit was given to Moms NGO to store the items they received as donations and other items. The unit will be located in tower H8. It has also agreed that Moms NGO will reach out to the women living in The Hiyaa Flat and help them through a separate campaign with HDC, which listens to their concerns and to assist them..

Moreover, arrangements have also been made to allocate a warehouse space for HDC to store construction materials received under the ‘Hope for Moms campaign for Moms NGO. As part of the campaign, HDC’s design team has also agreed to assist in the design of the houses.

Moms NGO supports several families who are in need of assistance in the society. Moms NGO aims to empower local mothers. It’s a mother-led initiative called ‘MomsMV’ on social media facebook. More than 39,000 mothers are active in the group.

It has successfully implemented and carried various programs to support distressed single mothers and empower women, especially single mothers, in the community. In this regard, activities such as Back to School, Moms Expo, etc. are noteworthy.

HDC believes that the agreement will help many people in need and this will bring about a positive change in the society.
