Italian national carrier ITA Airways has commenced its operations to the Maldives today.
For the first flight of ITA Airways to Maldives, was accorded a warm welcome by Velana International Airport with a water salute.
ITA Airways will operate flights from Rome, Italy to Velana International Airport. And the airline will use Airbus A350s and A330s aircraft for the operations. Airline started its operations for the winter season and will operate flight to Maldives till April 15 next year.
ITA Airways was established and in operation since November 2020, is fully owned by the Italian Government. The airline was established after the former national carrier of Italy, Alitalia, went bankrupt.
