Six teams have participated in ‘Thila Uthuru Futsal Competition 2022’ organized by Ha. Atoll Council in collaboration with Ha. Utheemu Council.
According to Atoll Council competition is aimed at government offices and employees of state-owned companies in Haa Atoll. From each island opportunity is given for one team, which can be an institute of the island or a team consisting staffs from various institutes in the island.
While the deadline for participation ended on November 22, 2022, and six islands participated in the competition. These islands are Utheemu, Thuraakunu, Dhidhdhoo, Baarah, Filladhoo and Ihavandhoo.
The objectives of conducting the competition are to acknowledge the services rendered by the employees who serve in the institutions of the atoll, to promote friendship and harmony among the institutions, to promote social bonds and to keep the spirit of the sport alive. In addition, the development of talented futsal players in the atoll, the promotion of futsal, and the opportunity for them to showcase the futsal skills of the atoll’s institutions should also be provided to them.
The competition is scheduled to begin on December 1 and the matches will be played at Utheemu Futsal ground.
The winning team will receive a cash prize of MVR 15,000 while the runners-up will get a cash prize of MVR 10,000.
