For the 2nd Annual Migrant Workers’ Cricket Carnival, Maldives Migrant Workers’ Maldives (MMWM) maintains its collaboration with Ooredoo Maldives and the Maldives Cricket Board.
This carnival is held annually, to engage migrant workers in sports, while using it as a platform to reach a significant migrant population to raise awareness and provide various necessary services.
Similar to the cricket carnival the year before, MMWM will collaborate with local NGOs to offer free medical screening and legal assistance to migrant workers throughout the carnival.
The Cricket Board of Maldives and their employees will oversee the tournament, which is scheduled to start at 0800 hrs to 1800 hrs on December 2, 2022. And MMWM requests to complete cricket teams registration before November 29, 2022, via MMWM’s social media channels and hotline at +960 738 4994.
The cricket carnival is a way to involve the migrant community in the anniversary celebrations of MMWM as an organization that was founded only to advocate for the rights of migrant workers, and the organization highlights the support from generous partners and sponsors.
In addition, similar to last year, MMWM anticipates welcoming a sizable contingent of migrant workers and their teams to the cricket carnival this year.
