An ‘IDPD Health and Wellness’ camp to be held in Kulhudhuffushi City to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
The camp was organized by Maldives Association of Persons with Disabilities (MAPD), Kulhudhuffushi City Council and Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital (KHR) with the assistance of Dhiraagu.
MAPD stated that professionals from Vaso Medical Centre, Joshua Clinic in India and Astra Rehab will participate in organising the camp. And in the camp will assess the health condition of disabled people living in Haa Alifu and Haa Dhaalu Atolls and provide them with various health therapies.
The camp will be held from 1430hrs to 1800hrs on December 2, 0900hrs to 1200hrs on December 3 and from 1330hrs to 1500hrs on the same day. Also camp will be held from 0900hrs to 12hrs and 1330hrs to 1500hrs on December 4, 2022. Moreover, MAPD noted that December 4, will be dedicated screening of disabled persons coming from islands of Haa Alifu and Haa Dhaalu Atolls.
Health screening will be conducted at the camp for disabled persons living in the two atolls for free of cost, and the three-day camp will be held at the KHR’s ‘Ufan Hiyaa’ building. According to MAPD, the camp will include speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, clinical psychology, dental and eye screening services.
And special events would also be organized from 1600hrs to 1800hrs on December 3 to mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
