An agreement has been signed with Sunfront and Veliga Hardware for the construction of two mosques in Hulhumale’ Phase II. 

The agreement was signed by Managing Director of HDC Ahmed Athif and Managing Director Mohamed Rashad Adam signed the agreement on behalf of Sunfront. 

The agreement was signed on behalf of HDC by Ahmed Atif, Managing Director of HDC and Mohamed Rashad Adam, Managing Director, Sunfront. And agreement between Veliga Hardware and HDC was signed by Ahmed Atif, Managing Director on behalf of HDC and Managing Director of Veliga Hardware Mohamed Aboobakuru on behalf of the company.

The new mosque to be built by Sunfront in Hulhumale’ is designed in a modern way which shows Islamic heritage. The mosque built on 22,935 square feet of land, is a modern concept Islamic centre to accommodate people for activities such as saluting (hand shaking) on festivals such as Eid outside the mosque. Also, there will be a specific area for women to do ablution and prayers. And approximately 2000 devotees can offer prayers inside the mosque at a time. Solar energy can be used in this mosque.

Furthermore, the mosque to be built by Veliga is also a modern design, which is to be built on two floors on 15,457 square feet of land. Similar to other mosque to be built by Sunfront there will be a specific area for women to do ablution and prayers. And approximately 2200 devotees can offer prayers inside and outside of the mosque at a time. And solar energy can be used in this mosque.

In addition, the mosque to be built by Veliga is built under the company’s CSR. Both the contractors are well renowned companies in the country.
