Xeeru Sports Club has won the men’s category of the Kumundhoo Council Futsal Challenge 2022 organized by Kumundhoo Council.
In the final match played at Kumundhoo Futsal Ground, Xeeru Sports Club won the final match against Beach City Sports Club 4-2.
Ali Haafiz (Happe), one of the best Futsal players in the Maldives, made a difference in the final match of the match. Happe scored a hat-trick by scoring three goals in the final. Asim Ali also scored a goal for Xeeru Sports Club. Happe was also selected as the man of the match of the final match. And Neeshan Ibrahim and Ali Malaash scored the goals for Beach City.
Top five players of the tournament are: Ahmed Shizan – Atto FC, Ali Haafiz – Xeeru Sports Club, Mohammad Adam – Lions, Fahuman Abdul Hameed – Beach City Sports Club, and Rashid Moosa – Xeeru Sports Club.
Moreover, Mushrif Mohammed was selected as the most promising player of the tournament. Lantern FC was selected as the fair play team of the tournament. With 8 goals in the tournament, Happe was the top scorer of the tournament. Happe was also selected the King of the Tournament. And among the participating teams, Fahuman Abdul Hameed of Beach City Sports Club was selected as the Best Futsal Player of Kumundhoo.
The runners-up team of the tournament is Beach City Sports Club. The team was awarded a cash prize of MVR 5,000. As the Winning team Xeeru Sports Club was awarded with a cash prize of MVR 10,000 from council and MVR 10,000 from constituency MP Mohamed Raaee.
Kumundhoo Council has stated that the purpose of holding a futsal competition is to establish unity and harmony among the athletes of the island, inculcate the spirit of sports, create the talented athletes in the island, and provide more opportunities to develop the skills of the emerging athletes.
