Turf Queen has secured the final spot in the final of the women’s category after the draw against Zeeru Starts in the last match of the league round played at the Kumundhoo Council Futsal Challenge 2022 organized by Kumundhoo Council.
In the women’s category, the last match of the league round between Zeeru Stars and Turf Queen ended in a 0-0 draw. The Zero Stars had a chance of making it to the final with a win, but a draw gave the Turf Queen the last spot in the final. Aminath Shamila of Turf Queen was selected as the best player of the match.
In the women’s category, all the league rounds have been played and CS Women are at the top with seven points from three matches. With five points from three matches, Turf Queen is in second place, while the Zeeru Stars are in third place with four points from three matches and Beach City Women are at the bottom of the table without a point.
The final match between CS Women and Turf Queen will be played at 1630 hrs at Kumundhoo Futsal Ground on November 12.
Kumundhoo Council has stated that the purpose of holding a futsal competition is to establish unity and harmony among the athletes of the island, inculcate the spirit of sports, create the talented athletes in the island, and provide more opportunities to develop the skills of the emerging athletes.
In addition, the winning team will receive a cash prize of MVR 10,000 while the runner-up team will receive a cash prize of MVR 5,000.
