Kulhudhuffushi City Council has open applications to participate in the ‘MTCC Kulhudhuffushi Championship 2022’ Football Tournament.
According to Kulhudhuffushi City Council, clubs and Non-governmental organization (NGOs) of Kulhudhuffushi registered with the Ministry of Home Affairs or the Sports Commission of the Ministry of Youth will be given opportunity to participate in the tournament, which is scheduled to begin on December 2, 2022.
Teams who wish to participate in the tournament are requested to complete the Google form and submit before 1200hrs of November 14, 2022. Moreover, city council stated that first eight applicants will be given opportunity to compete in the tournament. Also, there will be no registration fee and matches will be played at Kulhudhuffushi Zone stadium football ground.
The objectives of organizing the tournament include providing an opportunity to all football lovers, including the youth of Kulhudhuffushi, to enhance the football skills of the youth, to produce youth who play football at the national level in the city and to make the city a supportive island for the development of football. Taking football to a new level in the city and keeping the youth away from crime are also the objectives of organizing the tournament.
In addition, the winning team will be given MVR 50,000 while the runners-up will get MVR 10,000. And cash prize and trophies will be given to other selected winners from matches and tournament.
The main sponsor of the tournament is MTCC. The cosponsor is Fenaka.
