Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has added 6 new electronic buses to its Raajje Transport Link (RTL) bus fleet.
According to MTCC, these buses are brought to contribute to the “NetZero by 2030” initiative by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
These buses are compact in size, with a capacity of 11 seats and wheelchair access. Moreover, company’s CEO Adam Azim has previously stated that initially these buses will be operated in Male’ City under the company’s RTL service. However, there are plans to expand the service to atolls in the future.
Furthermore, MTCC stated that they hope these vehicles not reduce the carbon footprint, it will also improve customer experience as well. Currently, mini buses are operated daily from 3 routes in Male’ City.
