Zeeru Sports Club won the match and the match between Turf Queen and CS Women ended in a draw in yesterday’s matches played at the Kumundhoo Council Futsal Challenge 2022 organized by Kumundhoo Council.
In the women’s category match between Turf Queen and CS Women ended in a draw as neither of the two teams managed to score a goal. Naufa Ibrahim of CS Women was selected as the best player of the match.
In the first match of the men’s category, Zeeru Sports Club defeated Lantern FC by a huge margin of 10-2 yesterday. Nasif Hussain, Mansoor Mohammad, Furqan Abdul Hameed scored two goals each, while Ali Haafiz, Asim Ali and Suhail Abdul Qayoom scored a goal. Lantern’s goals were scored by Shaeeq Hussain and Samah Adam. Ali Hafeez of Zeer Sports Club was selected as the best player of the match.
In the second match of the men’s category yesterday, Lions played against Athirikolhu Legends. The Lions won the match 4-0. Mohammed Irshad, Mohammad Hussain and Mohammad Adam were the goalscorers for the Lions. Mohammad Adam scored two goals and he was selected as the man of the match. Moreover, three matches are scheduled to be played today in the tournament.
Kumundhoo Council has stated that the purpose of holding a futsal competition is to establish unity and harmony among the athletes of the island, inculcate the spirit of sports, create the talented athletes in the island, and provide more opportunities to develop the skills of the emerging athletes.
In addition, the winning team will receive a cash prize of MVR 10,000 while the runner-up team will receive a cash prize of MVR 5,000.
