Atto FC, Espotes Juvenis and Turf Queen won the matches played at the Kumundhoo Council Futsal Challenge 2022 organized by Kumundhoo Council.
Atto FC defeated Lions 1-0 in their opening match of the tournament. Atto FC’s Ahmed Sinaz was selected as the player of the Match.
The match between Lantern FC and Espotes Juvenis was won by Espotes Juvenis 3-2. Adam Abdulla, Ibrahim Rameez and Maniu Abdul Muhsin scored for Espotes Juvenis. For Lantern, Ali Samah scored a goal, and an own goal by a Espotes Juvenis player. Husnee Mubarak of Espotes Juvenis was selected as the best player of the match.
In the Women’s category, the match between Turf Queen and Beach City Women was won by Turf Queen 2-0. Aminath Abdulla and Rafa Ibrahim scored the goals for the Turf Queen. And Rafa Ibrahim of Turf Queen was selected as the best player of the match. Moreover, two matches are scheduled to be played today in the tournament.
Kumundhoo Council has stated that the purpose of holding a futsal competition is to establish unity and harmony among the athletes of the island, inculcate the spirit of sports, create the talented athletes in the island, and provide more opportunities to develop the skills of the emerging athletes.
In addition, the winning team will receive a cash prize of MVR 10,000 while the runner-up team will receive a cash prize of MVR 5,000.
