Ha. Ihavandhoo Council has opened the opportunity to participate in the ‘Ihavandhippolhu Rasthari’ Quran competition.
According to Ihavandhoo Council ‘Ihavandhippolhu Rasthari’ Quran competition which is scheduled to be held from December 17-20, 2022, is open for the five islands of Ihavandhipolhu.
Speaking regarding the Quran Competition Ihavandhoo Council member Mohamed Zahir Hassan stated that residents of 5 islands of Ihavandhippolhu – Ihavandhoo, Hoarafushi, Molhadhoo, Uligamu and Thuraakunu can participate in the tournament.
Moreover, Zahir stated that invitations to participate in the tournament have now been sent to the local councils and each island will announce participation from their respective islands. Zahir noted that there will be an audition in each island and contestants selected through auditions will come to the competition, 10 contestants will go to the second round and five will go to the third round.
Furthermore, Zahir stated that all arrangements will be made for the stay and food for the participants coming from other islands. And the council is trying to offer an Umrah trip to the “Rasthari” , the winner of the competition.
A cash prize of MVR10,000 will be presented to the island selected for the first and MVR7,000 to the island which secures the second place, while a cash prize of MVR5,000 will be presented to the island selected for the third place. A cash prize of MVR5,000 is offered to the winner of first place in the competitions, MVR3,000 for the second place and MVR2,000 for the third place.
Ihavandhoo Council, Ihavandhoo Women’s Development Committee (WDC), Club Polestar and Anbari Foundation are jointly organising the competition.
